European Alternatives was awarded by the Nesta Policy and Research unit with the research grant: 'Data Driven Methods for Mapping Below the Radar Activity in the Social Economy'.
Both, the call by Nesta and the grant proposal by European Alternatives can be accessed from the right hand side of this page. Note that throughout the different project stages a number of issues have been encountered that have lead to changes in the original proposal.

European Alternatives helps people use creative methods to imagine different ways of living in Europe. Run by 13 local groups across Europe, its main projects include the Transeuropa Festival, Transnational Dialogues, Transeuropa Lab and the Citizens Pact.
The organisation has been developing research methods to map groups below the radar in the social economy, including creating new innovative methods to collect the data, developing different methods to map groups below the radar and visualising outputs to illustrate the findings and trends.
Nesta is an innovation charity with a mission to help people and organisations bring great ideas to life.
The Policy and Research unit at Nesta undestakes a range of projects, and funds other people’s projects, aimed at figuring out how innovation works, how society can benefit from it and what governments, businesses and other organisations can do to help innovation flourish.
